“what does Benghazi have to do with her feet” is one of the most beautiful sentences I’ve ever read. Anyone who thinks we can never recover from hyper-partisanship should read this.
While some may get off on admiring the feet of those they abhor, for many it is simply about the feet. So I would say you are describing A kink, not THE kink.
To a degree I think that's absolutely true...as a foot fetishist who has frequented wikifeet for quite a while I can attest to that in myself, to a degree (I will not name names, but I am a liberal and a fairly reprehensible right-winger -- not covered in this article -- is a particular fave and there is a strong element of that to it).
But I also think this has been a facet of wikifeet -- and the rest of the web, frankly -- for a while. Conservatives are especially quick to point out their differences with a model (more so than liberals, I think, but that's my bias). I have honestly learned the positions of many famous women simply from having looked them up there, knowing nothing else about them.
(There IS such a version, yes? Dudes spank, regardless of preference and/or kink. Or is it just too difficult to find celebrity men's feet on display? )
The left and the right are both wrong to let politics interfere with what is important: having footwear that reveals as much feet as possible. Both slides do it!
It's truly heartwarming to see folks put aside their differences for the common good. I think we should all aspire to follow Serial Bridge Arsonist's example.

It would appear that beautiful feet attached to a reprehensible person is a key part of the kink here.

I still think they should Lock! Her!.Up! ...
BUT HER TOENAILS!
BRAVA for that Meghan McCain descriptor alone. This newsletter is art
A well-written and amusing article. The condesension towards foot fetishists, though, is a bit difficult to get through.
I'm not brave enough to find a picture of Paula Deen's feet smoothened in butter, but I know it exists and that's enough.
Frankly a little surprised and relieved that it's not a cesspool of neo-Nazis and incels. Heart-warming really.
Give us the dudes.
